Ana Corbacho
Is the Principal Economic Advisor of the Institutional Capacity and Finance Sector (ICF) of the Inter-American Development Bank. ICF covers a broad range of issues that include fiscal policy, decentralization, capital markets, competitiveness, institutional capacity, and public sector reform. Ana is responsible for the research agenda and dissemination strategy of knowledge products. She is also a member of the Studies Committee of the Bank. Previously she was the deputy chief of Regional Studies of the Western Hemisphere Department at the International Monetary Fund, where she led the preparation of the bi annual Regional Economic Outlook. Her areas of expertise include macroeconomic analysis, fiscal institutions, public investment and PPPs, and poverty and income distribution. More recently, her research has focused on citizen security and legal identity issues in Latin America. She holds a Ph.D. in economics (distinction) from Columbia University in the City of New York and a BA in economics (summa cum laude) from Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires. She was a fellow of Universidad de San Andrés, Columbia University, the Organization of American States, and the Bradley Foundation.
